SLC an infrastructure development and delivery specialist, has appointed experienced programme leader Chris Winfield as Regional Lead – North West, strengthening the company’s presence and client support across the region.
Chris joins SLC following more than 18 years at Network Rail, where he held senior roles across some of the UK’s most significant rail and infrastructure programmes, including Euston station redevelopment, East West Rail, HS2 interfaces, Northern Hub and North West Electrification.
In his new role, he will lead SLC’s client engagement across Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Cheshire, Lancashire and the wider North West, working with local authorities, transport bodies and industry partners to develop and deliver transport investment across the region.
Chris has extensive experience of the North West transport landscape. As Senior Sponsor for Network Rail’s Northern Hub and North West Electrification programmes, he was responsible for the delivery of major capacity enhancements, including the Ordsall Chord in central Manchester, and worked closely with government, local authorities, operators and other industry partners.
More recently, he was Head of Network Rail’s Programme Delivery Unit for its North West & Central region, leading the development of the Euston station redevelopment strategy and working with organisations including the Department for Transport, HS2, Transport for London and the London Borough of Camden.
