Purpose of the Role
The Graduate Engineer is required to support the delivery of projects. Most projects will involve the development of early stage designs for railway station, depot and car park projects. The role will focus on developing and producing deliverables in support of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) and Telecoms designs, as well as supporting in multidisciplinary design outputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply the company processes from the integrated management system (IMS).
- Apply relevant standards and regulations to the work being undertaken.
- Assist Project Engineers with early-stage feasibility studies and option selection design work. Carrying out site visits, report writing and assisting in the production design drawings.
- Participate in team meetings and technical workshops.
- Support the resolution of technical issues and interface challenges.
- Deliver a safe working culture within project teams that you are part of and promote safety within all aspects of your work.
- Manage design work and ensure works are being completed on time, to budget and at a high quality.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (electrical or rail engineering).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to produce high quality, clear and literate technical documentation and reports.
- Experience of using MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, or equivalents.
- Drive, determination, passion, flexibility and a positive mental attitude.
Desirable Requirements
- Membership of a recognised Engineering Institution (e.g. IET)
- Knowledge and experience of the railway.
